We have solutions. Our experienced legal team has handled cases involving slip and fall accidents, nursing home neglect, dog attacks and more. The insurance companies can be difficult to deal with, but we have a long history of getting favorable settlements and verdicts.

We are proud of our track record of obtaining large and sometimes multi-million dollar recoveries for clients injured due to negligence. Serious injuries have serious consequences. It’s important to connect with a firm that knows how to get the job done right.

How do accidents happen in North Carolina?

Some of the cases we handle include:

  • Slip and Fall/Premises Liability: Accidents can happen in the blink of an eye at shopping centers, restaurants, apartment complexes and other locations around Charlotte. Somebody may break an ankle after falling on an unmarked wet floor while shopping in Uptown. A North Carolinian may suffer injuries after an assault due to malfunctioning security cameras in a museum parking lot or garage.
  • Pedestrian Accidents: Pedestrians and bicyclists are a common sight in Charlotte and across Mecklenburg County – and they have every right to share the road with cars, trucks and other vehicles. Drivers who injure or kill pedestrians or bicyclists must be held accountable for their actions when they’ve caused an accident due to their own negligent behavior.
  • Nursing Home Neglect: We expect high standards of care when our loved ones are living in nursing homes. But this isn’t always the case. Some facilities hire unqualified staff. Staff members may be unmonitored as they fail to take care of a resident’s basic needs. The signs and symptoms of nursing home abuse are wide-ranging and may be hard to detect. It’s important to know what to do if you suspect a loved one is being subject to neglect in a nursing home. You’ll need a strong advocate on your side protecting the rights of your loved one.
  • Dog Bites: Dog bite injuries are frighteningly common in North Carolina. Children are especially at risk of sustaining serious injuries. You may have been walking alongside the street when you were approached by an unfamiliar animal. It may have been a friend or neighbor’s dog that attacked. We’ll work tirelessly to hold negligent parties accountable and fight for the compensation you deserve.

What Is My Case Worth?

When you call us for your free consultation, we will listen to you and provide an honest assessment. Each case is unique, so no attorney can tell you how much your personal injury claim is worth until you’ve spoken with him or her.

But generally speaking, an attorney may pursue a variety of damages in a personal injury claim, which may include the following (among other types of damages):

  • Medical expenses: Most injury cases include the cost of medical treatment.
  • Loss of income: You may have to take time off from work, or even give up your job because of the accident. Your attorney will seek lost wages as part of the settlement.
  • Pain and suffering: You may be facing chronic pain after an accident and be entitled to compensation.
  • Property damage: The cost of repairing or replacing your car or other possessions may be factored into your compensation package.
  • Loss of consortium: The event may have caused an injury affects your sexual relationship with your spouse.
  • Emotional distress: In some cases, victims of accidents are left with long-term psychological trauma. Our legal team can evaluate the emotional impact, which may include any fear, anxiety or sleep loss you are experiencing.
  • Funeral expenses: If you are pursuing a wrongful death claim, the family of the deceased may be entitled to recover the costs associated with funeral expenses incurred as a result of the injury.
  • Punitive damages: In some cases, a court may decide to award “punitive” damages to punish the defendant or to send a message to the community to deter others from the type of behavior that led to the personal injury or wrongful death.

You have questions after your accident. It’s common to be confused, frustrated and even angry. The negligent person or company that caused your accident may deny wrongdoing. Their insurance company might make a quick low-ball offer or even deny your claim.

When you’ve done nothing wrong and are dealing with the serious consequences, you need to be treated fairly. Hull & Chandler, P.A., can be your voice. Cases Won

  • $1.1 million – Car Accident – The attorneys at Hull & Chandler obtained an arbitration award for a husband and wife who were involved in a violent, head-on collision. The wife’s primary injury from the car accident was bilateral femur fractures which required multiple surgeries. The husband was not seriously injured but made a claim for loss of consortium. After rejecting the insurance company’s offer to settle for $477,000, Attorney Michael Chandler took the case to arbitration and received an award of $1 million for the wife and $100,000 for the husband. (Anderson v. Evans, Mecklenburg County, 2009).
  • $400,000 – Trucking Accident – The attorneys at Hull & Chandler obtained a settlement for a high school student who suffered multiple injuries including a closed head injury after a truck accident. The client was a passenger in a car being driven by a fellow student who ran a stop sign and was struck by a speeding tractor trailer. The insurance company for the student driver admitted fault but had limited insurance coverage. Attorneys Timothy Zarsadias and Michael Chandler filed two separate lawsuits in the pursuit of additional sources of recovery. The case eventually settled with the insurance company for the tractor trailer on the eve of trial. The case was denied until that time. (Confidential, Union County, 2010)
  • $360,000 – Trucking Accident – The attorneys at Hull & Chandler in association with another law firm obtained a combined workers’ compensation settlement and third-party liability settlement for a man who was struck broadside by a loaded dump truck. The third-party insurance company denied liability on the grounds that the truck driver had the right-of-way and that client was contributory negligent. Attorneys Inez Docar and Timothy Zarsadias filed a lawsuit, achieving a favorable settlement after contentious discovery and mediation. (Mecklenburg County, 2010).
